PAJARITO MOUNTAIN has many miles of trails, ranging from doubletrack service roads to steep and technical freeride and downhill trails, plus a jumps park and new skills park.
X-C TRAILS
Aspen For Trouble: A twisty, sometimes-technical singletrack running from top to bottom on the mountain’s west side. It is also the recommended route for riding to the top – for those who prefer to earn their descents. Several of the other XC and downhill trails branch off this trail.
Aspeñola: A challenging singletrack XC descent from the top with great views on the east side, completing the Aspen For Trouble – Aspeñola loop. Not for climbing.
Lower Aspeñola: Fun XC singletrack descending to near the bottom of the Townsight lift. This trail drops below the base elevation, so you will have to climb to get back to the base.
Midway: A mixed single and doubletrack that connects Aspeñola with Aspen For Trouble at mid-mountain level.
Service Roads: A variety of doubletrack and jeep trails on the mountain. These are all designated ‘easiest’, but some are quite steep in places.
FREERIDE / DOWNHILL
Half Aspen: A ripping descent through the meadows on the west side, with numerous rock-ledge drop offs. It is rated ‘more difficult’ and as a downhill-style trail may not be suitable for all bikes.
Muy Loco: The original DH racecourse – the steepest on the mountain with several serious obstacles including an elevated log ride, a high drop-off, a gnarly rock garden and many steep loose sections.
Mother’s Milk: Steep and challenging descent with numerous jumps and log rides, plus a teeter-totter to test your mettle. All the obstacles have ride-around options, though even these ‘easier’ alternatives require advanced bike control.
Triple Threat: Finishing off the Mother's Milk descent is this North Shore style run through the forest, with log rides, bridges, drops and a large teeter-totter. Expert only.
Air Raid/Battle Stations/May Day: Air Raid is a fast line with many jumps and tight turns. Battle Stations is similar to Air Raid with two standout features: a long log ride and a sizeable road gap jump. Finally, May Day dives into the trees just north of Salamander Gully and contains many challenging rock features before ending at the Camp May Road below Mother Lift.
Dogpatch: Make sure your brakes are in good order and lower your seat for this steep, curvy descent though the trees west of Dogpatch ski run.
