Pajarito Mountain Ski Area is located five miles west of Los Alamos, and is easy to get to from the east or west despite the recent LANL security perimeter additions:
» From Santa Fe or Espanola take NM 502 to the Y split east of town; NM 502 continues through Los Alamos center, while NM 4 heads towards the Truck Route (East Jemez Road), White Rock and Bandelier. Either proceed through the LANL security checkpoint on the south side of Omega Bridge, (open to the public - no ID required), or take West Road at the traffic light just north of Omega Bridge which avoids the checkpoint entirely.
» From the Jemez on State Road 4, turn left onto NM 501 and then left again onto West Road just before the west checkpoint.
» Whichever way you choose, from West Road follow the signs and turn west onto Camp May Road, then drive 3 miles to the ski area.
